For Purchasing & Procurement Offices
Procurement FAQ
The questions Houston-area school district facilities and purchasing teams ask us most — what striping costs, how long projects take, what insurance we provide, and how to submit a request. If your question isn't answered here, call Mario directly.
Striping Costs
What determines the cost of a striping project?
Pricing is based on the work itself: the number of parking stalls, the lineal feet of fire lanes and curbs, how many ADA spaces and access aisles need marking, and whether the lot needs a new layout or a re-stripe over existing lines. Because every campus is different, we price from a walkthrough and put each item on its own line in the written proposal.
Can we see pricing per line item or per campus?
Yes. Every proposal is written and itemized, so each element — stalls, fire lanes, ADA markings, arrows and legends — is priced separately. Districts can evaluate individual line items, award only part of a quote, or compare per-campus costs across a maintenance plan.
How should we budget for ongoing striping across our district?
We can quote a single campus, a full district, or an annual agreement covering scheduled re-striping and maintenance across multiple sites. After walking your sites, we provide the recurring figures in writing so facilities and purchasing teams can plan budgets with real numbers instead of estimates.
Quoting & Pricing
How do we get a quote for our campus or district?
Email us your bid packet or RFP, or submit a quote request through our form. We walk the site with your facilities team — free of charge — and return a written, itemized proposal with per-item pricing, so line items can be evaluated or awarded separately.
Can we use your quote with our competitive bid process?
Yes. Written, itemized quotes can be used as an independent cost proposal or attached to a solicitation response. If your purchasing office has a required quote form or format, send it over and we will complete it as specified.
Do you offer district-wide or annual pricing?
We can quote per campus, per project, or under an annual agreement covering scheduled striping and maintenance across multiple sites. Terms are set in the written agreement and discussed during the walkthrough.
Payment Terms
What are your payment terms?
We work with standard public-sector payment terms and can invoice net 30 or align with your district's existing vendor terms. Specific terms are stated in every written proposal before work begins.
Do you require a deposit?
For most school district and public agency work, no deposit is required — work is invoiced on completion. Any exception would be clearly stated in the written proposal for your approval before scheduling.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept district checks and ACH payments, the standard methods for public agencies. W-9 and vendor registration information for setting us up in your payment system are available on request.
Timelines & Scheduling
How quickly can you start a project?
After a walkthrough, we typically provide a written quote promptly, and work is scheduled around your calendar — including summer breaks, weekends, and after-hours so campuses stay operational. Exact availability is confirmed with every quote.
Can you work during the school year without disrupting classes?
Yes. Work around students and staff is part of how we plan: striping lots and fire lanes during off-hours, weekends, or breaks, and staging equipment away from pedestrian and bus traffic.
What is the turnaround once work begins?
Most single-campus striping projects are completed in days, not weeks, and maintenance work is scheduled in the proposal timeline. Your proposal states the expected schedule before any work begins.
Insurance Requirements
What insurance documentation do you provide to districts?
A current certificate of insurance issued to your district or agency as certificate holder, with additional insured endorsements where your contract requires them. Workers' compensation and commercial auto documentation is provided with the certificate as well. Everything is sent in writing with the proposal, before any work is scheduled.
Our district has specific insurance requirements. Can you meet them?
Send your district's insurance requirements with the bid packet or walkthrough request. We review them with our insurance agent and provide the certificate showing the required coverage before any work begins — so you have it on file before crews arrive on campus.
Will you name our district as additional insured?
Yes. Additional insured endorsements are available for school district and public-agency contracts. Tell us how your district needs to be listed — certificate holder, additional insured, or both — and the certificate will reflect it.
Contracts & Compliance
Will you sign our district's contract or purchase order terms?
Yes, we regularly work under district purchase orders and standard public-agency contract terms. Send the agreement with your bid packet and we will review and return it promptly.
What insurance and documents do you provide?
Certificate of insurance issued to your district, additional insured endorsements where required, W-9, vendor registration forms, and references — all available on request. See our vendor qualifications page for current status of each.
Are your workers cleared to be on school campuses?
We are prepared to meet district requirements for background checks and badging for workers on school property. Tell us your district's process during the walkthrough and we will complete it before work begins.
Do you warranty your work?
Every proposal states the scope in writing, and completed work is documented with before-and-after photos. If a marking or repair does not hold up as it should, call us and we will make it right.
How to Submit a Request
What is the fastest way to submit a request?
Three ways, whichever suits your office: email your bid packet, RFP, or requirements to mflores@fmg-usa.com; call Mario directly at 832-571-6558; or submit a request through our quote form, where you can describe the work and upload site photos. Every request is reviewed personally by Mario.
What should we include in our request?
The campus names and addresses, the areas that need work — parking lots, fire lanes, ADA spaces, or building maintenance items — and any deadlines or preferred work windows. Site photos help but aren't required; the free on-site walkthrough fills in the rest.
How quickly will we hear back?
Requests are reviewed personally by Mario, who responds promptly to schedule the free walkthrough. After the walkthrough you receive a written, itemized proposal, so your office has the numbers it needs for the current project or the fiscal year.
